Our Approach- New gTLD Application Process

Phase 1: Strategic Planning & Feasibility
We begin by building a strong foundation. This includes developing your funding strategy, drafting a preliminary business model, and identifying the key documents required for your new gTLD application. At this stage, we assess whether your vision aligns with ICANN's expectations and set you up for long-term success.
Phase 2: Objection Readiness & Vendor Planning
Once ICANN releases the next version of the Applicant Guidebook (AGB), we start preparing your application content — including answers to evaluation questions, your TLD business model, financial forecasts, and supporting documentation. We also evaluate risks related to public objections, string similarity, and contention.
At the same time, we help you shortlist potential backend Registry Service Providers (RSPs), escrow providers, and abuse contact vendors. Final selection of these partners is crucial to ensuring ICANN compliance.
Phase 3: Application Submission
When ICANN opens the application window, we fill and submit the entire application on your behalf. This includes uploading all supporting documents, aligning your application with ICANN’s technical and policy frameworks, and making sure every box is checked — accurately and on time.
Phase 4: Publication & Contention
After ICANN publishes the full list of applicants, we review whether your TLD is in a contention set (i.e., if someone else applied for the same or a confusingly similar string). If so, we support you through auction strategy or community-based resolution.
We also prepare for the ICANN priority draw, where you may be required to attend the draw event in Los Angeles to determine your application’s processing order.
Phase 5: Objections, Comments & GAC Advice
During the public comment period, applications are subject to scrutiny from the public, governments, and watchdog groups. If objections are filed or GAC (Governmental Advisory Committee) advice is issued, we draft and manage all responses, ensuring your application stays on track.
Phase 6: Evaluation & Approval
We handle all follow-up communication with ICANN, including questions from evaluators. Once your application is approved, we transition you into the post-approval phase.
Phase 7: Post-Approval & Delegation

After approval, we guide you through:
Contract Signing: Registry Agreement, Escrow Agreement, and onboarding commitmentsICANN Technical Onboarding: Account setup, reporting access, compliance frameworks
OT&E Testing: Required operational testing of your registry systems
Delegation: Final technical checks and launch of your TLD into the live DNS root
Key Facts
ICANN's next round is expected to receive 3,500+ new gTLD applications, making it one of the most competitive rounds ever.
But here's the catch:There are very few consultants globally who specialize in ICANN gTLD application strategy, drafting, and risk handling.
Filing early is critical — applications submitted on Day One get higher processing priority, which can affect launch timing and revenue potential.
If you wait until ICANN opens the window, you may already be too late to prepare properly — or may not find the right expert support in time.
From application strategy to backend registry onboarding — the best time to start is now.
